The Cross means many things to many people.
In Christianity, it is a symbol of the death of Jesus Christ. “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners” (Romans 5:8). Christianity teaches that Jesus died for people who had lost their way. He did not die because it was forced upon him. It was a choice. A choice made in love. He came and gave his life for them. The message of the Cross remains a gift of love.
It has been said that the cross symbolizes so much more… death and life, violence and peace, accusation and forgiveness, sin and purity, brokenness and wholeness, destruction and restoration, defeat and victory.
Making a sign of the cross can be an act of profession of faith, a prayer, a dedication, or a benediction. It can be given in honor of a loved one in birth, or in death. It can offer hope for those who need support, it can
